Frequently Asked Questions regarding Face to Face Coaching

What is Face to face coaching? Face to face coaching involves the coach and client meeting in an appointed location and then conducting a coaching session.

How can face to face coaching be effective? Face to face coaching is very effective, it gives the coach an opportunity to see how the client reacts to certain questions. This can be very important as sometimes the client may say something but there body language says something else.

What happens during a face to face coaching session? The client and coach co-design the agenda. The coach and client sit down and discuss the areas of the clients life which they may wish to work on.

What is the advantage of face to face coaching? Face to face coaching is very personal and trust can be built up quickly. The coach can also gauge the response that the client gives to each question through their body language. During face to face coaching many visualisation and physical exercises can be undertaken which can be very powerful for the client. Many clients prefer to talk and see their coach directly, although instant messaging, email and phone coaching also have many advantages. More often than not a combination of all forms of coaching will be used, depending on how the client feels.

Will you the coach give me advice? By and large the answer is no. The idea of life coaching is that you take responsibility for your life and your actions. You will be empowered to life your life to the fullest your way. Therefore it is essential that you make decisions. If the coach makes decisions for you, the issue is that you will say well it was not really my decision - the coach told me to do this. If you want to change how you think and live you must be responsible for your decisions
