What is phone coaching ? Phone coaching involves the client ringing the coach at a previously agreed time. The coach and client then set out an agenda for the coaching agenda (although this is usually agreed in advance).
How can phone coaching be effective ? Phone coaching is very effective as sessions are arranged at a convenient time to the client and also the client does not need to physically go anywhere in order to attend the session. This saves the client time and hassle of having to go to a particular meeting point.
What happens during an phone coaching session? Phone coaching is similar to face to face coaching in that an agenda is pre-arranged and the client and coach work through the co-actively designed agenda. The coach will listen and question the client to elicit deep and meaningful responses
What is the advantage of phone coaching? Firstly convenience, as you do not have to travel anywhere. Also it has been found that like email or instant messaging coaching, people may open up more on the phone rather than in a face to face situation. Another advantage of phone coaching is that no matter where in the world the client is it can take place. So if you are on a business trip/holiday you can still get coaching. Another great reason to undertake phone coaching is that I might live in a different city, state/county or even country to you. Many clients find this makes a huge difference as the coach is completely neutral to their situation
